GOVERNOR Willie Obiano of Anambra is to receive a `Meritorious Award of Excellence’, from Comprehensive Secondary School Old Boys Association, Nawfia for his excellent performance in governance.

The association nominated for the award, “after carefully examining some indices of development, which form the hallmark of Gov. Obiano administration.’’

They listed security of lives and property, Education, Agriculture and The N20 Million Community Choose Your Project Initiative, for all communities in Anambra.

“We also considered the erection of the three flyover bridges within the Awka Capital Territory as the yardsticks for the nomination.’’

A statement released by the association on Golden Jubilee Celebration of the school in Nawfia, Christian Ezeamaku, the principal, announced that award would be presented on November 11.

According to Ezeamaku, the Old Boys of the College under Oliver Onwughalu, the national chairman, has done a lot to enhance development in their alma mater.

He called for more efforts to address the myriads of challenges facing the school.

Activities to feature on the award day include the launch of the N50 million e-library and other projects.

Expected participants for the occasion would include Obi Nwude, chairman publicity and awards sub-committee and former managing director, Anambra State Newspapers and Printing Corporation.
