OBA Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, has described Governor Willie Obiano as “a great leader with the unique attributes of simplicity and benevolence’’, who has the interest of his people at heart.

The Ooni was speaking when he paid Obiano courtesy visit at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.

Ogunwusi, who was in the state for the 16th Ofala Festival of the Traditional Ruler of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, had cut the mission short to meet up with the governor, who he noted, was an old friend.

Commending Obiano for his vision and the transformation that his administration had brought to the state, saying that Anambra State and indeed, Nigeria were lucky to have him as governor at `this perilous period’.

The revered leader noted that his visit was part of his efforts at preaching unity and peaceful co-existence among his people.

“I am proud of Governor Obiano, his accomplishments and his nationalist stance and prayed God to grant him the wisdom to effectively steer the affairs of the state.’’

Obiano in his remark, said their deliberations centred on the upcoming gubernatorial election in the state.

The governor said he was optimistic, that he would get the support of Ndi Anambra and non-indigenes during the November 18 election.

Ernest Obiejesi, a business mogul, who accompanied the Ooni on the visit, said Ndi Anambra did not only have a governor who is dear to their hearts, but who had also demonstrated that the state could be governed well,  saying that APGA belonged to Ndigbo.

According to him, the friendship which the governor has garnered across various tribes in the country presents him as a detribalised Nigerian with a large heart.
