Not less than 49 communities in Omambala Union comprising six local governments in Anambra North Senatorial zone resolved to confer a title, ‘Odogwu Omambala’ on Willie Obiano.

The conferment, which took place during a political rally held at the Otuocha Township Stadium, Anambra East, was carried out by the Alfred Achebe, chairman Anambra North Traditional Rulers Council and Traditional Ruler of Onitsha.

Achebe said the title was as a result of the giant strides of Gov. Obiano in taking Anambra state to a higher height.

“We are comfortable with Obiano administration. We will support him for second term to complete his eight years after which Anambra South will take over.

“We will adhere to zoning arrangements,’’ Achebe said.

Receiving the title, Gov. Obiano noted he would consolidate on his continuity agenda in order to make the state viable.

“After my eight years, I would have simultaneously transformed every part of state to be economically viable and created more opportunities for businesses to strive.’’

Obiano enjoined the election umpire and political parties to observe electoral rules and allow the peoples’ vote to count.

Victor Umeh, chairman, Obiano Re-election Committee, and former National Chairman of APGA, expressed confidence that Obiano’s second term would further help him to solidify his efforts in developing the state.

“We are sure of over 150,000 to 200,000 votes in Anambra North. The mammoth crowd here is to testify to Obiano’s achievements. I assure you that APGA will win with landslide,’’ Umeh added.

Ben Emeka, traditional ruler of Umueri, in Anambra East,  said that the present administration had provided adequate facilities in all sectors and improved the people’s standard of living.
