THE Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Republic of Congo, Deborah Samaila Iliya, has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari on his victory at the February 23 Presidential election.

Iliya gave the congratulatory message while reacting to the outcome of the 2019 Presidential election on Tuesday in Abuja.

She said the Nigerian community in the Republic of Congo celebrated President Buhari’s victory because of their optimism in his ability to transform the decayed infrastructure in Nigeria.

“ We appreciate God for giving us President Muhmmadu Buhari, because he is a man of integrity and over the years, Nigerians yearn for somebody who is fearless and can take Nigeria to the next level.

“ We are indeed grateful to God for choosing Buhari as our leader regardless of all propaganda against him,’’ she said.

The Nigerian envoy said the emergence of President Buhari had gone a long way in uplifting the image of Nigeria within the comity of nations.

On her part, Mrs Zuwaira Gambo,  Coordinator of Aisha Buhari Foundation in the North East, said the re-election was a great opportunity for the people of the zone to consolidate on the peace building.

“We pray that this next level will bring more social intervention that would touch the lives of women and children in the north east,’’ she said.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the President, during the victory dinner organised by his wife Aisha, promised to consolidate on the fight against corruption, tackle economic challenges and security.

The President acknowledged the significant role played by women and youths toward his re-election and promised to appoint more of them in the next four years of his administration. (NAN)
