SENATOR Chukwuka Utazi, representing Enugu North senatorial district, has urged youths of his constituency to take their destinies in their hands by becoming employers of labour, in place of pursuing frivolities all in the name of white collar jobs.

Utazi gave the advice at a seminar to flag off youth empowerment programme titled “Enugu North Senatorial District Youth Empowerment via Graduates Entrepreneurship Training, Keeping Pace with the Development Agenda of Gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State” at Udenu Local Government Area headquarters.

The event according Utazi is to give business tips to youths to enable them become successful men and women in whatever career of their choice. He said, “Every arrangement has been concluded with Central Bank of Nigeria, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) and Bank of Industry to offer you all necessary training and capital to start your own business. Stop wasting your time looking for non-existing white collar jobs that may not even address your needs.

“This is why we have decided to bring the people you all know as our resource persons; they movers and shakers of Nigerian economy today; they are all business men who started their humble beginning from here. You all know late Igwe James Mamah, the founder of Ifesinachi Transport Ltd, who started as a barrow pusher, his son will be here to tell us the success story. Also, Chief Samuel Onyishi, MD/CEO of Peace Mass Transit, who began his business as a driver and today he is a successful businessman.

“Let me also use myself as an example, I lost my father when I was eleven years. I started with rice business from Adani and transporting it to Enugu while in the university, today by God’s grace am a senator and owner of filling stations,” he said.

Utazi drilled the youths for several hours intimating them on how to become successful; he also urged them to use the money which would be given them to start their businesses judiciously. The senator informed the trainees that what they needed to succeed in business was knowledge, hard work and total trust in God.
