The visit aimed at verifying the application of UNICEF grants and assisted project implementation in Anambra State.

Chineze George-Ileka, a deputy director, Ministry of Information and Desk Officer, UNICEF while analysing the visit said that the exercise was approved since last year.

“It is a yearly routine which was initiated in 2018 by UNICEF to verify all requests for funding and how the released funds were applied to projects jointly approved by two partners – Anamabra and UNICEF.

“The modus is that they will check our records, tell us where we have done wrongly and document their findings for future reference.’

“This will help us not to veer off course in implementing UNICEF-assisted projects in the state,’’ she added.
