Transport Owners End Strike in Bayelsa

THE Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners, NARTO, in Bayelsa State, has called off the industrial action embarked upon by its members in the state.

The decision to call off the action was announced after a meeting between representatives of the state government and the leadership of NARTO in Yenagoa.

A joint communiqué issued at the end the meeting also called on the leadership of the NARTO to submit all the necessary legal instruments to the state government for its proper recognition as well as the protection of its operations.

The communique, which was signed on behalf of government by the chief of staff, (Government House), Talford Ongolo and Zonal Chairman of NARTO, Sam Akano.

Both parties agreed to always resort to dialogue, in resolving disputes, in order not to cause hardship to the members of the public.
