Uke monarch celebrates new yam festival

The Uke Community in Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra has celebrated a new yam festival, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the community.

Igwe Charles Agballah, the traditional ruler of the community, while performing the Iwaji festival thanked God for bountiful harvest.

Agballah showered blessings on his subjects and prayed for peace and unity in his community.

He commended the Anambra State government for promoting good governance in the state, especially the emphasis placed on security and creation of the enabling environment for entrepreneurship to flourish.

Ikedi Obi, the president-general, PG, of Uke community, felicitated with Igwe Agballah on his 3rd successful Iwaji ceremony, urging him to sustain his purposeful reign.

Obi also commended Obiano for using his Community Choose-Your Project Initiative to reach out to all communities in the state.

Chukwuemeka Enendu, a former president-general the community, expressed his good wishes to Agballah in sustaining a focused leadership.

Chidozie Nwosu, the PG of Ndi Okpalaeze community, Orumba North LG, commended Igwe Agballah on his 3rd new yam celebration aimed at promoting Igbo culture.

Nwosu urged the citizenry to sustain their support for the Obiano administration.
