IT was a gathering of `who is who’ at the Dr Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka for APGA flag off campaign rally for Victor Umeh for Anambra Central Senatorial election re-run.

The election is scheduled to hold on January 13, 2018 by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. Only the seven local governments in Anambra Central will participate.

The rally, however, witnessed defection of some PDP stalwarts, some governorship candidates in the last governorship election in Anambra State.

Some of the decamped, include Anyao Nnebe, a member representing Awka North and South at the Federal House of Representative, Yule Edochie, the governorship candidate of the Democratic People’s Congress.

Receiving them, Obiano announced that he would work as Chairman of Chief Umeh’s Election Campaign Team to ensure that he would emerge victorious.

Obiano said that Umeh’s candidacy had what it took to be strong voice for Ndigbo at the Senate.

The governor noted that victory of APGA in the Nov. 18 Governorship Election in the state was a strong message that the party was on the move, “it is a call to duty’’.

Umeh, who was chairman of Obiano’s re-election campaign team expressed happiness that Ndi Anambra listened to the voice of reason and voted massively for APGA.

He re-assured them that the governor’s second term would certainly witness developmental milestones in the state.

Nnebe explained that his decision to join APGA was to fully identify with the Movement for emancipation of Ndigbo.

Bianca Ojukwu, Alex Otti and Nicholas Ukachukwu acknowledged that by voting massively for APGA in the Nov. 18 election, Ndi Anambra have restored the pride of the Igbo nation.

They described Umeh as APGA’s number one foot soldier, who would be returned January 13.
