GOVERNOR Willie Obiano says the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, candidate for the January 13, Anambra Central Senatorial Re-run election is the most credible leader to defend the rights of Igbos at any given moment.

The APGA candidate for the poll is Victor Umeh, a former chairman of the party and campaign director of the Obiano gubernatorial election.

Obiano said this during APGA campaign rally for Anambra Central Senatorial Zone at Achalla, Awka North Local Government Area, LGA, of the state.

The governor urged the people of the area to continue to express their support to APGA. He also solicited their support in the January 13, rerun election.

Umeh commended Awka North for the support given to APGA at the last governorship election.

He added that Awka North would remain the stronghold of APGA.

Umeh described APGA as beacon of democracy in Nigeria due to its various administrative policies geared toward improving lives of the people.

“The present INEC leadership believes in rule of law that was the reason it conducted a credible election.

“INEC has said the January 13th rerun election must take place. We are prepared again for another landslide victory.

“President Buhari also allowed the people of Anambra State to decide, irrespective of pressures from his party.

“This Saturday’s election will be another victory for us. Let us come out en masse to vote APGA,’’ Umeh pleaded.

The member representing Awka North and South at the Federal House of Representative, Mr Anayo Nnebe as well as his counterpart representing Awka North in the State House of Assembly, Mr Boniface Okonkwo re-assured of landslide victory for APGA.

The duo stressed that Umeh had acquired experience to effectively represent the Igbos in general and consolidate on the achievements of the Obiano administration.
