LIVINUS Nnebedum, zonal director, Agricultural Development Programme, Aguata Zone, has urged Agro N-Power Youths in his zone to make maximum use of the programme to improve their living condition.

Nnebedum made the call while instructing the youths on staple crops production such as yam, cassava, maize production, fishery, poultry and economic tree production.

The event was held at the Aguata council hall, Ekwulobia.

“Opportunities do occur but once an opportunity is lost, it becomes irrecoverable.

“You are not the only people that applied for N-Power Programme but you were opportune to be successful.

“God has given you this opportunity to better your lives and make the best out of it.’’

He adds: “the benefit of N-Power Programme is not the stipend you get every month but the knowledge you acquire during the training’’.

The director enjoined the participants to start off with little poultry in their backyard; starting with 10 birds, following the steps they learnt in feed production.

“You can do same in fishery. Get a little fish pond at your backyard, start the way I told you; in six months, you will be selling fish to people,’’ Nnebedum said.

He noted that agriculture was now lucrative as many rich people in government and in the private sectors were actively engaging in farming.

Beneficiaries of the training that include Ndidi Nweze, Anthony Ezeno and Chima Okafor, all expressed gratitude at the opportunity, promising to put the knowledge acquired into use.
