Victim Support Fund hands over 37 projects to Benue Govt

THE Victim Support Fund (VSF) on Tuesday handed over 37 public infrastructure to the Benue Government.

The Chairman, VSF, Gen. Theophilus Danjuma (Rtd), performed the symbolic handover in Agatu Local Government Area of the state.

Represented by the Executive Secretary, VSF, Prof. Sunday Ochoche, Danjuma said that the projects were for the communities that were ravaged by the herdsmen attacks.

Danjuma listed the LGAs which benefitted from the gesture to include Agatu, Guma and Logo respectively.

”All the communities affected were captured in the intervention programme. Agatu, Logo and Guma were the LGAs largely affected by herdsmen attack in Benue,” he said.

He said that VSF had executed the projects in response to the request made by Gov. Samuel Ortom of Benue calling for the rehabilitation of the ravaged communities.

”The projects were block of classrooms, stores, offices and toilets. Others include, potable water and health facilities,” he said.

Ortom expressed gratitude to VSF for coming to the rescue of the ravaged communities by rehabilitating the destroyed infrastructure.

Represented by the Deputy Governor, Engr Benson Abounu, Ortom urged the benefitting communities to maintain the facilities well.

Also, the Special Adviser to Ortom on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Dr Magdalene Dura appreciated VSF for the gesture.

Dura promised that the projects would be well taken care of for the overall good of the state. (NAN)
