THE Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has exonerate itself from the murder of one Prophet Anthony Nwoko, a former ally of Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB’s leader, who was killed last week.

Report had it that the prophet was killed by unknown assailants last Sunday night at his apartment located at No. 18 Ezebinugwu Street, beside Bright Land International School, Ugbene 2, in the Trans-Ekulu-Abakpa axis of Enugu.

Emma Powerful, IPOB’s spokesman in a statement said accusing IPOB members of perpetrating the act, which he said was masterminded by Nigeria security agencies, is diversionary.

He said if the motive behind the sponsored announcement of Nwoko’s death and his previous association with Kanu is to divert attention from the IPOB leader’s worldwide broadcast slated for Saturday, April 20, then the plan should be considered shattered.

Powerful maintained that in event of independent autopsy confirming any foul play in the reported death of Nwoko, then DSS and Army will be held accountable.

“Their recent spate of abductions and killings across Biafraland is proof, if any is needed, that they would commit whatever atrocity they can, in the hope of implicating IPOB”, he argued.

He admonished the media to be “mindful not to prejudice the uninvestigated circumstances surrounding the passing of Anthony Nwoko in order not to become unwitting agents of dark forces that wish to tarnish the image of IPOB at any given opportunity.”

According to Powerful, IPOB is well aware that Nigerian government and her security agencies will go to any length to stain our unimpeachable reputation in the hope of using it as a cover to continue their ongoing unreported war against IPOB.”

Realnews, however, learnt that before his death, Nwoko had taken to his Facebook page to speak about his relationship with Kanu.

He said their relationship went sour after the IPOB leader made him relocate from Lagos to Enugu only to abandon him.

His last posts on Facebook were at about 1:40 pm on April 14, where he uploaded various online reports of his views on Biafra agitation, including video clips from Kpakpando TV.

He had in press conferences on January 8 and March 18, 2019, respectively, accused Kanu and some other pro-Biafra campaigners of turning the agitation into a money-making venture.

Nwoko had raised the alarm that he was receiving death threats from members of the IPOB over his bribery allegations against their leader, Kanu.
