THE Kano State Government on Wednesday in Kano described the defection of the erstwhile deputy governor, Prof. Hafiz Abubakar, to the Peoples Democratic Party “as long overdue,” adding that Governor Abdullahi Ganduje expected it “long before now.”
This was contained in a press statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Youths and Culture, Mohammed Garba.
The former deputy governor had addressed a press conference in which he related the alleged circumstances that culminated in his resignation.
Abubakar had also used the occasion to confirm his defection to the Peoples Democratic Party. – Punch
