A group of youths from six political parties in Jenkwe Development Area of Nasarawa State have endorsed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the Saturday election,  Mr David Ombugadu.

This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday in Abuja by the Convener of the coalition, Mr Joel Agidi.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the groups are from All Progressives Congress (APC), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Young Progressive Party (YPP), Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Labour Party (LP).

Agidi said that the group decided to collapse its structure and draw support for the PDP candidate, ahead of the forthcoming governorship and house of assembly elections in the state.

He said that the group arrived at the decision after considering the track records and excellent performance of Ombugadu during his stay at the National Assembly.

“He performed well in the area of youth and women empowerment, employment, provision of potable water, electricity and many others across the wards in the state.

“He also provided infrastructure and attended to the general welfare of the people. No doubt, he is the best candidate for the job,’’ he said.

Agidi further stated that the agrarian communities in the state desired peace and security so that people could go back to their farm lands.

He called on youths, women and all residents of the state to come out in their large numbers and vote for Ombugadu on Saturday, adding that they should also defend their votes and make them count. (NAN)
