No fewer than 10,000 candidates seeking admission to the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, AAUA, Ondo State, participated in the Post Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination for the 2018/2019 academic session.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun, disclosed this while speaking with journalists on the campus of the institution.

Ajibefun, who had earlier inspected the conduct of the exercise, in company with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of the Post-UTME Committee, Prof. Olugbega Ige, at the Computer-Based Test Centre of the university, however, noted that the institution could only accommodate 5,300 candidates.

Expressing satisfaction over the conduct of the examination, the VC said there was no hitch during the exercise. He added that the institution would not compromise its standard in admitting best candidates.

He said, “I have gone round, and I’m so impressed by the conduct of the examination. The servers and systems are functioning very well. The organisation is superb.”

He also commended the committee handling the examination and other officers of the university involved in the conduct of the examination for a well-done job. – Punch
