The National Secretary of the Peoples’ Redemption Party (PRP) Malam Shaibu Yamusa has called on Kaduna residents to vote wisely in the 2019 general elections by voting only credible candidates.
Yamusa said this during a news briefing at the Kaduna NUJ Secretariat on Wednesday.
“I will like to use this forum to call on the good people of Kaduna state to vote wisely, vote for individuals not political parties.
“Vote for economic freedom and solutions to economic woes bedeviling the state and of course, vote for men of renowned integrity,” he said.
Yamusa, also one of the party’s candidates for the state House of Assembly, chided the current All Progressive Congress (APC) led administration in the state for implementing what he described as “anti peoples policies’’.
“We put up the struggle to ensure that the present government succeeded in 2015 general elections.
“We did this with the hope that there was a genuine concern for the people and there was an agenda for genuine economic and social development and a blue print for governance,” he said.
He pointed out that leadership is all about people, their feelings, welfare, security and economic freedom.
Yamusa said the people of the state had reaped very little of the so called dividends of democracy since the coming of the APC administration in 2015.
“Even though, we cannot put the whole blame on President Muhammadu Buhari.
“We do believe that leadership is about responsibility, a leader must always take responsibility for his lieutenants’ misdeeds,” he said.
According to him, the situation is far worse in Kaduna state.
“The president has tried as much as possible to put something right, most often when the president tries to put things right, his lieutenants are not with him,’’ he said.
According to him, the PRP is an old political party with a record of great achievements in the past.
“It is evident that no government has been able to put in place social amenities in the state like the PRP.
“To this end we are calling on good people of Kaduna state to vote wisely in the 2019 elections, vote for solutions to the problems bedeviling the state.
“We are going to present Malam Ahmed Umar who is the PRP Governorship Candidate in the state,” he said.
According to him, the PRP government would make special provision for the revival of the agricultural sector in the state, if elected in 2019.(NAN)
