THE Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha has celebrated anniversary of Blessed Iwene Tansi in Alor, Idemili South Local Government Area (LGA).

Blessed Michael Cyprian Iwene Tansi celebration started with a Pontifical Mass featuring prayers for his canonisation.

According to him, this is the model that Iwene Tansi adopted in achieving God’s purpose during his time.

He urged the congregation not to go back to idolatry but worship God with all their hearts, saying, “faith works wonders in the life of Christians as it brings them closer to God’’.

Monsignor Emmanuel Nwosu in a speech enjoined those whose prayers were answered through petition of Iwene Tansi to indicate for onward report to Rome as proof of God manifest through him.

Martin Onukwuba, the Parish priest of the Church, said with a decent life, the Church could make one popular, describing the anniversary as ceremony of hope.

Thanksgiving was held by all churches in the Onitsha Catholic Archdiocese and touching of the relics for blessing by the congregation.
