REV. Bright Oladeji, the Chaplain of the Baptist Church University of Abuja, says the power of resurrection removes all shortcomings in the life of Christians.

Oladeji said this in his sermon tagged: “Faith and Grace” at the 2019 Easter Programme organised by the Christian Media Fellowship Practitioners of Nigeria (CMFPN) on Wednesday in Abuja.

According to the Chaplain, who represented Rev. Israel Akanji, President, FCT CAN President and Baptist Conference of Nigerian Baptist Convention, the power of resurrection turns our weakness to power.

Oladeji quoting from the Bible, 1st Corinthians 15:16-57, added that the resurrection power turns our failure to breakthrough, sickness to health, death to life and ultimately rescue the Christians from the wrath of God.

He, however, admonished Christians to exercise their faith in God by making things happen, saying we could only benefit from the redemptive power if we believe and exercise our faith.

“In the situation we find ourselves as a nation in the area of security of life and property, if we believe that the power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead is alive on our behalf, we can move around and know that the power is available to protect us.

“The Bible says except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it.

“Except the Lord protects a house, the security people that protect it labour in vain, which means both security agencies, all arms of government and citizens of this country need to turn to God to ask for protection.

“So the power of resurrection is available to everyone that believes Christ died and rose from the dead,” he said.

Also, Pastor Michael Oluwole of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) said Christ came to lighten our ways and to put an end to every struggle and pain.

He said that Christ’s resurrection took away our sorrow and pain, therefore, it was a new dawn for every child of God.

Alhaji Yakubu Mohammed, Director General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), said media was a very powerful tool and should be used positively to advance the kingdom of God and the nation at large.

The NTA director general, represented by Mr Stephen Moses, added that media practitioners should show more commitment to the things of God.

Meanwhile, some worshipers who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) aired their views on the significant of Easter.

Mrs Korede Badmus said the programme which is a yearly event of all Christians in Federal Government media organisations was commendable as it brought all practitioners together.

She said the programme allows media practitioners to “speak with one voice in righteousness and also pray for the progress of the nation.’’

Badmus urged Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and private organisations to emulate this gesture to promote national cohesion in our various offices.

Also, Mr Chike Kalu called on all Christians to reflect on the purpose of Easter to emulate Christ selflessness in love and replicate this in forgiving one another. (NAN)
