A 29-year-old sales representative, Mr. Daniel Chuks, was on Monday arraigned before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court, over alleged stealing of N1.293 million belonging to Unique Life Improvement Platform, where he works.

The prosecutor, ASP. Akpan Nkem, told the court that the defendant, who was charged with stealing, committed the offence between Aug.6 and Sept. 17 at Morogbo office of the company.

Nkem said that the defendant stole the money which was in his custody, adding  that the money belonged to one Dr Asa Promise, a customer of the company.

“The offence contravenes Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015,” the prosecutor said.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge. Chief Magistrate Patrick Adekomaiya granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200, 000, with two sureties in like sum, and adjourned the case until Nov.17, for hearing. (NAN)
