Buratai lauds Combat Service Support Corps commanders

THE Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen Tukur Buratai has commended the Commanders of the Nigerian Army Combat Service Support Corps for successfully hosting the 20th edition of the “Training Week’’.

He gave the commendation in a keynote address at the closing of the Training Week on Thursday in Benin.

Buratai was represented by Maj.- Gen Adekunle Shodunke of the Nigerian Army Standard and Evaluation

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the event, which began on Aug. 27, saw the presentation of awards to officers who had excelled in the performance of their duty.

The training had as its theme: “Enhancing Combat Service Support Capability through Public Private Partnership to meet the Nigerian Contemporary Challenges’’.

Buratai said the Army had been able to explore how the Combat Service Support Corps could utilise the Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement in the provision of various supports to tackle contemporary security challenges.

He added that the training had also improved relationship between the Army and the civilian populace.

“The pragmatic and lucrative ideals that came out of this training week will be practiced,’’ he assured.

The Army chief also expressed gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari, Gov. Godwin Obaseki of Edo and the traditional ruler of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, for their support. (NAN)
