NBA Chairman, 2 other lawyers allegedly harassed by police in llorin

Mr Mohamned ldowu, Chairman, Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), llorin branch, and two other legal luminaries, including a university lecturer, were allegedly harassed by the police in llorin on Wednesday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the incident occurred at the Traffic Section of the `A’ Division under the command in llorin.

The other two lawyers allegedly harassed were Mr lsmaeel Lukman and Dr Mustapha Adua, a law lecturer at the University of llorin.

Narrating their ordeal to NAN, Adua said some policemen on duty stripped their colleague half naked when he attempted to bail somebody in their custody.

He alleged that the police harassed and molested him and two other lawyers including the llorin branch of the NBA Chairman, who intervened in the matter.

The Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, Samuel Okasanmi, told NAN that the police command was still investigating the matter with a view to bringing perpetrators to book. (NAN)
