The Nigeria Immigration Service is forced to make repeated press statements and releases concerning “FAKE RECRUITMENT ADVERTS”.

This became necessary to avert the danger of unsuspecting Nigerians falling prey to the scammers, who will defraud them of their hard-earned monies.

The NIS noted that the scammers have changed their antics by posting a recruitment update that has no approval of the Nigeria Immigration Service”, James Sunday, public relations officer of NIS said in a release made available to Realnews on July 9.

According to him, “there is a need to ALERT the general public of this ugly development and criminality. The service wishes to inform the public that it is untrue and fake as even the body of the update  posted has a lot of grammatical errors which does not depict the standard of a reputable service like Nigeria Immigration Service.”

He said Muhammed Babandede, comptroller general of Nigeria Immigration Service, has directed that the public be informed that the NIS recruitment portal has since been closed to enable scrutiny of submitted applications.   He said that successful candidates will be officially notified of any development via credible means of communication as the service has the details of the applicants as submitted by them with which to contact them.

“The public is to note and avoid fraudsters. Any suspected case should be reported to the nearest Immigration Office or Police, Nigeria Immigration Service does not charge fees for recruitment in any form,” he said.
