Sen. Umeh hands over maternity complex to Agulu Community

A former member representing Anambra Central Senatorial Zone, Sen. Victor Umeh, has handed over a maternity building complex, a borehole, and over-head tanks to the people of Umunowu Village in Agulu community.

The project, which was under the 2019 appropriation Act, was attracted to the village by the former Deputy Leader Anaocha LGA, Azubuike Imoka.

Sen. Umeh, who was represented at the event by his head of media, Emeka Okose, said this was in fulfillment of the promise he made to Ndi Anaocha to attract projects to the zone.

“It is also to complement the state government’s effort to bring good healthcare to the grassroots,’’ he said.

Umeh, who listed some of his constituency projects to the zone during his short tenure at the Senate, pledged more developmental projects to the zone.

He urged them to protect and make good use of the facilities.

The former chairman, Anaocha LGA, Ikeobi Ejiofor, commended Sen. Umeh for his kind gesture and his commitment to the development of the zone.

The Traditional Ruler Agulu Community, Igwe Innocent Obodoakor, applauded Sen. Umeh, whom he described as a true son of Anaocha for bringing the projects to the community.

He noted that good healthcare would be at the reach of women and children of the area.

The President-General Agulu Peoples’ Union, Andy Orakwelu, represented by the secretary APU, expressed Joy that the project was sited in Agulu.

Orakwelu emphasised that the project would provide good healthcare for the community and the neighborhood.

He commended the senator for the project, which he described as evidence of good stewardship.

He also praised the counselor for finishing the project at the stipulated time and called on the State Primary Health Department to help in making the facilities functional.

He extolled Gov. Willie Obiano for creating an enabling environment for development to thrive in the state.
