BOSS Mustapha, secretary to the government of the federation, SGF, has condoled with the people of Adamawa state over the death of Muhammadu Gambo Jimeta, former Inspector General of Police, IGP, and minister for agriculture.

In his condolence letter written to the governor of Adamawa state, Ahmadu Fintiri, dated January 22, 2021, Mustapha said that: “with sincere sympathy that I condole with you in this period of grief as you and the great people of Adamawa State mourns the passing of an illustrious and commendable son of Adamawa state.

“He was a fine gentleman, a trendsetter who distinguished himself remarkably in the development of Nigeria devoid of all sentiments. He was adept at his job and displayed an ardent yet uncanny commitment to the task before him.

“It was no surprise that his dedication, brilliance, and relentlessness received recognition and he was rewarded having attained the pinnacle of his career as the IGP and went on to hold numerous positions, notably National Security Adviser, NSE, and Minister of Agriculture under different dispensations,” he said.

According to him, his selfless devotion and patriotism to the growth of Nigeria are unassailable and his contributions to the promotion of democracy honourable. “He will not be soon forgotten but will be forever treasured, for his deeds will serve as a constant reminder to the people of Adamawa and Nigeria what patriotism must reflect.

“We pray he finds forgiveness and rest in eternity and we also pray for comfort and strength to bear this loss. Please accept my prayers and best wishes,” Mustapha said.
