A Cleric, Rev. Tajan Moltok, has urged Christians in the country to continually show gratitude to God, even at difficult times.

Moltok, who is the Resident Pastor of Shepherd House International Assembly, Jos, made the call on Sunday in Jos during the mid-year thanksgiving service of the church.

In his sermon entitled ‘Gratitude to God and Man’, he said thanksgiving to God in any circumstances usually paves way for open doors.

“As a Christian, you must always show gratitude to God; some are in the mortuary, some do not have sight and some are sleeping under the bridge in some big cities, yet you are alive, hale and hearty,” he said.

According to him, those who are grateful to God will see greater days ahead while lack of gratitude displeases God and can prevent people from receiving their blessings.

“Gratitude is the act of being thankful and showing appreciation to God through praises. It is a fundamental force in the journey of life.

“Some challenges in life are meant to bring us closer to God and show His mighty works in our lives. What you call a problem may actually be a scenario that God has created for you to perfect you relationship with Him,” he said.

The cleric said that thanking God during unpleasant periods usually motivated God to shower His people with greater blessings.

He, however, attributed the failure of most people to show gratitude to God to what he called the spirit of the last days, lack of faith in God as well as lack of confidence in His words.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the cleric conducted a special prayer session for the blessings and protection of God in the remaining half of the year.
