Pierre Aubame, the father of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang,Gabonese and Arsenal star, has this Friday, September 21, been named one of the two national team coaches of Gabon in replacement to Jose Antonio Camacho, the dismissed Spaniard.

The Spaniard coach was sacked last week over poor results as Gabon won only two matches in their last 17.

The replacement, Aubameyang’s father, Aubame was a former captain of Gabon. He had 80 caps for the Gabon national team from 1985 to 1998. He spent most of his career at French team Stade Lavallois. He also worked as a scout for A.C. Milan.

He comes on the saddle with another former captain, Daniel Cousin in what the Gabonese FA described as “co-coaches.” Cousin was a forward at Rangers and Hull City, previously acted as team manager in charge of logistics. Francois Amegasse, another former national team skipper, takes over Cousin’s role. – Sport Village Square
