THE League Management Company has reinstated Jos Giwa Football Club to the Nigeria Premier League. Shehu Dikko, chairman, LMC, on Wednesday, August 17, said the decision was in adherence with an interim court order reinstating the club in the top flight.

The LMC wrote on Twitter, “However, as a law abiding corporate entity, LMC has taken immediate steps to effect compliance with the directives of the court as contained in the order, pending the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice.

“To this end, kindly be advised that Giwa FC has been restored to the table, while further processes are being activated to reschedule the matches concerning the Club, in accordance with the NPFL Framework and Rules, 2015/2016 Season,” the statement read.

The LMC has also asked players to return to their club. “No club shall henceforth feature any player whose registration it acquired on the basis of the expulsion of Giwa FC, as all such registrations are withdrawn. The above is for your information and compliance.”

Giwa was expelled from the league after he failed to honour three matches. However, a High Court sitting in Jos on May 20, ordered the league regulatory body to reinstate the club.

Giwa was punished for their refusal to comply with the NFF Ordinary and Disciplinary Committee and Appeals Committee’s verdict, which banished the team to Ilorin following fans trouble in the game against Rangers at the Rwang Pam Stadium.

The club then failed to honour three home games in Ilorin against Wikki Tourist, Akwa United and Enyimba, there by breaking the league rule.
