THE board of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has approved the appointment of Randy Waldrum, an American, as new Super Falcons head coach. By his appointment, Waldrum has replaced Florence Omagbemi, who led the falcons to win the African Women’s Championship in Cameroon last year.
“The board approved the recommendation of the technical and development committee for the appointment of Mr. Randy Waldrum as Technical Adviser of the Super Falcons, and directed the Secretariat to immediately conclude negotiations with Waldrum,” a communiqué issued after the board meeting in Jos, said in part.
The 61-year-old Waldrum coaches Houston Dash as well as the women’s team of Trinidad and Tobago. However, the board was silent on the appointment of the other national team coaches.
