THE Nigeria Football Federation are in talks with Heracles Almelo striker Cyriel Dessers over a possible call-up to the Super Eagles.
Dessers who was born in Belgium to a Nigerian mother, tops the Eredivisie scorers’ chart with 11 goals and five assists.
He confirmed that the NFF has contacted him for a possible call-up.
“There’s already been contact with the NFF. After the match against ADO Den Haag (last Saturday), an official from Nigeria sent me a message that I was doing well,” Dessers told Sporza in an interview.
“But it’s not going to be easy for me there either – there are over 300m Nigerians worldwide.”
“I have never been to Nigeria because of the political situation there. It was slightly better last year so I’ll be twice as happy if I can get an invite, even if it’s a friendly against Madagascar or Mauritius.”
The NFF are also in talks with Queens Park Rangers’ Eberechi Eze over a possible call-up.
Eze, who has played for the England U-21 team, has been met by NFF President Amaju Pinnick.
