THE Team Manager of Crime Busters FC, Enugu, Ebere Amaraizu, says the club is currently excited over its erstwhile players’ performance in the ongoing 2018/2019 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that its former players — Adimora Eze, right winger and Nonso Ugwu, a defender — were released to Bendel Insurance FC, Benin after the two clubs agreed on an undisclosed transfer fee earlier this year.

Eze’s 77th minute goal gave Bendel Insurance FC its two goals to nail visiting Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi 2-0 at the University of Benin Sports Complex in Group A of Match Day 13 fixture of the NPFL on Sunday.

Reacting to their performances, Amaraizu told NAN on Monday in Enugu that the club was closely monitoring the top and progressive performance of its erstwhile players.

“We are excited and happy that they are in their top forms and are currently part of the success and progressive story of Bendel Insurance.

“Crime Busters’ coach and technical crew have continued to give them all the positive advise, morale boost and even prayers to ensure they succeed.

“As our club’s coach has earlier promised, Crime Busters is churning out more Ezes and Ugwus for the betterment of the club and football entirely in the country,’’ he said.

NAN reports that both players were part of the victorious Crime Busters team that had an unbeaten run in the 2017/2018 season of the Nationwide League One (NLO) Division 1.

Eze scored a total of 10 goals from 12 matches in the 2017/2018 NLO football season.

Most importantly, he scored the winning goal against Rangers International FC, Enugu in the 2018 Enugu State Federation Cup final. (NAN)
