THE organisers of the Enugu State Football League have again postponed the final and third place matches of the competition from Aug. 4 to Aug. 11.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the organisers, Enugu State Football Association (FA) had postponed the final from July 31 to Aug. 4, citing logistics reasons.

The FA said on Friday in Enugu that the competition was postponed again until Aug. 11, to enable its members to attend the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) general meeting in Benin.

The association’s secretary, Francis Ugwu, who made the disclosure, urged the people to bear with the FA for the inconveniences the shift in date would have caused them.

“I wish to inform the public that the final and third place matches of the 2018 Enugu State League earlier rescheduled for Aug. 4 will now be played on Aug. 11.

“The reason is that Aug. 4 can no longer be conducive for the final due to the NFF general meeting holding in Benin on the same date.

“Please bear with us for the inconveniences,’’ he said in statement.

When the matches hold, Inter FC of Independence Layout and debutants Greater Liberation FC of New Layout will battle each other in the final match, while the third place will be between Ingas FC of Ngwo and Olicon Rovers of Coal Camp.

The third place match will be played at 8 a.m., while the final match will follow at 10 a.m.

Ugwu urged the teams for the final and the third place matches to keep to time to avoid been walked over.

He called on football lovers in the state to come out in large number to cheer their teams. (NAN)
