ANDREW Odoh, the number one ranked golf player in the country, on Monday, said that there was need for more professionalism during golf tournaments in the country.

Odoh made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

“We are not playing the decent number of tournaments, it’s nothing to be compared to South African tours, and professionalism is not top notch but one can notice the difference.

“If professionalism is brought in, we will achieve so much, but the truth is that we keep getting better, the number of tournaments is improving too but we can do better,’’ he said.

He also urged that rules and regulations be strictly adhered in tournaments.

“I think it is important that we follow the rules; it does not make sense that we bend rules, these are procedures that make our tournaments credible. If we don’t bend rules, we will achieve so much.’’ (NAN)
