A leopard strayed into a residential area in Delhi on Monday morning, and attacked at three persons before it was caught by local authorities with the help of residents.

The injured were admitted to a local hospital.

According to a Delhi government official, the wild big cat entered a house at Jagatpur village in North Delhi’s Wazirabad area, prompt locals to call the police and other government authorities for help.

Before the police and the fire brigade personnel arrived at the scene, the big cat had already attacked three men inside the house.

The natives of the house locked it inside a room from where the local authorities caught it and later released it in a nearby forest area.

The Jagatpur village is located next to the Wazirabad Biodiversity Park.

In 2016, an adult leopard strayed into the village.

After several people reported sightings, forest department officials captured the wild animal and transferred it to the Rajaji National Park in the northern hilly state of Uttarakhand, said a media report. (Xinhua/NAN)
