Student docked for allegedly stealing 2 cellphones worth N365, 000

A 28-year-old student, Halifa Sadik was on Wednesday docked in a Kano Sharia Court in Fagge for allegedly stealing iPhone and Redmi cellphones worth N365,000.

The defendant, who lives in Gadon Kaya Quarters in Gwale Local Government Area Kano was charged with theft.

The Prosecution Counsel, Insp Abdullahi Wada, told the court that the complainant, Al’amin Usman who also reside at  Gadon Kaya Quarters, reported the matter at Gawle Police Station, Kano, on Sept. 3.

Wada alleged that on the said date, at 03:30 p.m., the defendant went to the complainant’s room at Gadon Kaya, pretend to charge his phone and stole his two cell phones.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Judge, Malam Umar Lawal-Abubakar admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N30,000 with one reliable surety.

Lawal-abubakar adjourned the matter until Sept. 30, for further mention.(NAN)
