A Jos Magistrates’ Court on Thursday sentenced a 41-year-old tailor, Ezekiel Ali, to three months in prison for escaping from custody.

The Magistrate, Shawomi Bokkos, summarily tried and sentenced the convict after he pleaded guilty to the charge.

Bokkos in his judgment, ordered the convict to pay an option of N20,000 fine or spend 3 months in prison.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp Ijuptil Thiawur, told the court that the case was reported on Dec. 2, 2024 , at the “C” Division police station by officers who caught the convict.

Thawur said that the convict was arrested for housebreaking and theft but ran away from custody.
