TUNISIA on Thursday became a member of the Equal Pay International Coalition (EPIC), after meeting the criteria of equal pay for men and women, the Tunisian ministry of Women, Family and Seniors said in a statement in Tunis Thursday.

The ministry says it is also working to coordinate efforts between all concerned parties, government organizations, private sector and national organisations and within the framework of cooperation with the International Labour Organization (ILO), to devote effective equality in terms of equal pay for men and women in all sectors.

Run by ILO, UN women and the Organisation for Cooperation and economic Development (OCED), the Equal Pay International Coalition works in collaboration with other partners to attain equal pay for men and women everywhere in the world.

The Coalition also urged governments, employers, workers and their organisations to achieve tangible progress aiming to reduce the wage gap between genders at the world, regional and national levels.
