Ubong Essien to headline FIABCI Nigeria general meeting on blue economy

 THE International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) Nigeria is set to host a groundbreaking General Meeting themed: “The Blue Economy Revolution: Emerging Opportunities for Real Estate Players.”

The event, scheduled for Thursday, February 6, at 8:30 AM at Radisson Blu, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island, Lagos, will bring together top industry experts, government officials, and real estate professionals to discuss the evolving intersection of real estate and Nigeria’s blue economy.

The event will be headlined by Ubong Essien, CSP, West Africa’s only Certified Speaking Professional (CSP), former Special Adviser on Communications and Strategy to the Director-General of NIMASA, and Founder of the Blue Economy Academy.

With decades of experience in strategic communication, maritime policy, and business development, Ubong Essien will deliver the keynote speech on how real estate investors and developers can leverage Nigeria’s vast coastal and maritime assets for sustainable growth.

On the upcoming event, Essien emphasized the importance of transitioning from “Crude to Blue” and how real estate players can capitalize on waterfront developments, coastal urbanization, and maritime-driven economic policies.

“Nigeria’s Blue Economy is a multi-billion-dollar frontier waiting to be fully explored. The real estate industry must begin to position itself strategically in areas such as coastal housing, marine tourism, and smart waterfront cities. This event will provide a roadmap for industry players to seize emerging opportunities in this sector,” according to Essien. 

Distinguished speakers and special guests at 

the event will include an array of high-profile industry leaders such as Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, commissioner for Housing, Lagos State, 

Toke Benson-Awoyinka, commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Lagos State; 

Jermane Sanwo-Olu, executive assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on Diaspora Affairs (LASDA); Adeniji Adele, FIABCI Africa and Near East President; Ramon Riera Torroba, FIABCI World President (Chief Guest) and Akin Opatola, FIABCI Nigeria Chapter president (Host). 

The event will also feature expert panel discussions, networking opportunities, and strategic insights into the future of real estate in the blue economy.

Attendance and participation for FIABCI members is free while non-members are to pay N100,000.

Real estate developers, investors, policymakers, and stakeholders across Nigeria’s maritime and property sectors are encouraged to attend.
