A Magistrates’ Court in Osun, on Wednesday, remanded one Adedigba Emmanuel, 31, in prison custody for alleged N512,000 fraud.

The defendant is facing a two-count charge of fraud and stealing.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The magistrate, Habibat Basiru, however, refused the bail plea for the defendant, but asked the counsel to come with a written application.

Basiru ordered for the remand of the defendant in Ile-Ife prison custody until the adjourned date.

She adjourned the case until July 22 for hearing.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Ona Glory, told the court that the defendant committed the offence sometimes in March 2017 at about 11:00 a.m. at Gbalefefe area, Modakeke-Ife.

According to him, the offences contravene Sections 383, 390(9) and 419 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002. (NAN)
