Unemployed man docked for alleged possession of gun

A 26-year-old unemployed man, Tope Ajileye, was on Tuesday docked in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for alleged possession of a gun.

Ajileye, whose residential address was not provided, is charged with unlawful possession of a gun.

The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Foluke Adedosu, told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence on May 7, at about 6 p.m, in the Mapo area, Ibadan.

She alleged that Ajileye had in his possession a cut-to-size single barrel gun.

The offence, she said,, contravened the provisions of Section 428(D) of the Criminal laws of Oyo, State, 2000.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Magistrate I. O. Osho admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100, 000 and two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case until Sept. 15, for hearing. (NAN)
