Vote of confidence on Ayu will strengthen PDP chances -Dingyadi

THE vote of confidence passed on the PDP Chairman, Dr Iorchia Ayu, will strengthen the chances of the party in 2023.

Malam Yusuf Dingyadi, Special Assistant on Media and Communication to Ayu, said this in an interview with the News Agency Nigeria (NAN) in Katsina on Sunday.

“I am happy say that the Board of Trustees (BoT), National Executive Committee (NEC), Committee Working Committee (CWC) were party the people that unanimously passed a vote of confidence on Ayu to continue as a chairman in view of tracks records and initiatives which placed the party in a strong pedestals.

“We therefore appeal to our members to remain focused and disciplined with a view to taking our party to victory in 2023.

“The party is well grounded in all the 36 States of the Federation.

”Our party will take the country to the promised land that would also ensure peace and unity among the citizens.

NAN reports that the NEC of the PDP on Thursday passed a vote of confidence on  Ayu and NWC.

The motion for the confidence vote was moved by the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rep. Ndudi Elumelu and was seconded by another party chieftain from the South-West, Ishola Filani.

The confidence vote comes amid calls by some PDP governors led by Gov. Nyesom Wike of Rivers, for Ayu’s sack as national chairman of the party.

The Wike camp has insisted on Ayu’s removal as part of peace move and condition to support the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar. (NAN)
