THE Anambra State Commissioner for Lands, Bonaventure Enemali, has called on Christians to join hands in building a divine altar in Awka, for worshipping and praising God.

Enemali made the call during the just concluded religious gathering of all Christians in Anambra, tagged: “Expression 2020’’.

The event took place at Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka.

The dignitaries, who attended the event, were government officials, gospel artists, religious leaders, students and some other personalities.

Enemali noted that the vision to organise Christians all over the world and gather them for worship started six years ago.

The Land’s Commissioner explained that God is the giver and taker of life, and the Supreme Being, stressing that every creature must bow down to Him.

“We will raise an altar for God and build a worshipping community to the glory of God. God only needs to be praised. From today, it will be an annual event.

“I commend Gov. Willie Obiano for his love for God, which he demonstrated by approving this event. This is proof that the successes recorded in the administration are based on divine interventions.

“I also appreciate the presence of people who gathered here today. My prayer is that your life will never remain the same. You must experience divine turnaround,’’ he said.

Earlier, the Lead Pastor, Garden of Grace, Awka, Pastor Obi Ogbo, commended Gov. Obiano for effectively handling the cases of COVID-19 in the state.

“When other governors were arresting and harassing men of God, Gov. Obiano went on an awareness mission, sensitising and educating the public on the need to obey government policies and the COVID-19 protocols,’’ Ogbo said.

He described Enemali as a Minister of God, praying that God would give him the strength and wisdom to sustain the annual worship.

Artistes, who performed at the event, included Frank Edwards, Preye, Mercy Chinwo, Joe Kings, and Debby.
