Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State is committed to developing Aba, a commercial hub of the state, to bring back its lost glory

THE new government in Abia State has established the office of Aba Urban Renewal in its effort to demonstrate the high premium that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu places on rebuilding the ancient city of Aba. Godwin Adindu, chief press secretary to Ikpeazu, disclosed this in a press statement. Adindu said the rebuilding of roads and the general infrastructural renewal of Aba would be the top priority of the new administration, adding that the vision of the governor was to bring Aba back to its old pride of place.

Speaking to the members of Aba progressive Youth Movement who paid him a courtesy visit on Friday, May 5, Adindu said the city of Aba was dear to the heart of Ikpeazu and this had informed the reason he decided to operate from the city in the meantime so as to be close to the people and personally monitor the ongoing projects that were recently flagged off in the city.

Adindu further said that the Aba Urban Renewal Office would be a key driving force of the administration and that the governor would show personal interest and commitment to the activities of the office in order to ensure its performance to the utmost expectation.

He appealed to the residents of the city to cooperate with the administration as many drastic measures would be taken for the general good of the people and the state.
