A graduate of Business administration, Modibbo Zayd-Muhammad on Tuesday said he had always preferred setting up his own  business and  being his own boss to going into paid employment.

Zayd-Muhammad made this known  in a telephone interview with  News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), saying that  he  went into fabric business in 2016 at the end of  his  National Youth Service.

“My Dad wanted me to apply for immigration job after my National youth service, but I told him I don’t want to work under anyone, I want to be my own boss.

“Though he wasn’t in support of my decision at first, he later agreed and gave me capital to start my own business since he is also a business man”, he said.

He said he developed interest in running a business as a result his frequent visit to his father’s shop after school hours during his senior secondary school days.

Zayd-Muhammad said that he used to procure his fabrics  from Kano and Aba and resell them for profit.

He added that he enjoyed his freedom as a businessman, as he operates at his own time and pace, making an average sale of N30, 000 daily.

Zayd-Mohammed urged youth waiting for white collar job to consider venturing into businesses no matter how small and pray for God’s blessings. (NAN)
