THE members of Umuada Igbo in Nigeria and in the Diaspora have expressed satisfaction at the various agricultural projects being executed by the Government and people of Anambra State.

The projects are the production of local varieties of rice, onugbu, bitter leave, as well as the latest, being the breeding of Igbo variety of cows, Efi Igbo.

This is contained a commendation message sent to Gov. Willie Obiano through the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, C. Don Adinuba.

In the message the women groups noted that they were informed that the agricultural produce were for local consumption as well as for export.

“We have seen in Social Media where baby cows are fed with feeding bottles. You have taken the giant step of producing Efi Igbo for our consumption.

“We are proud of you and solidly behind your success in agriculture. In the near future Anambra State will have sufficient rice and Efi Igbo for Nigeria’s consumption and export.

“To God be the glory,’’ the groups said, and called on all other south east governors to emulate the examples of Gov. Willie Obiano Agriculture Projects.

“Your Excellency, may God continue to bless you, your family and the entire people of Anambra State,’’ the groups said.

The Information Commissioner, while thanking Umuada Igbo explained that “Anambra’s commitment to improvements in agriculture is to completely banish hunger in Igboland and Nigeria in general’’.

The cow farm run by Eagle Farms is located in Umuchu in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.
