THE Police Officers Wives Association, POWA, visited three orphanage homes in Anambra State to present relief materials to them.

These include bags of rice, cartons of Indomie brand of Noodles, biscuits and toiletries.

The benefiting orphanage homes are Nise Motherless Babies Home, Model Community Children Home/Daycare Centre, Awka and Tender Love Villa, Awka.

In a speech at the event, the chairperson, POWA, Anambra State Command, Khedija Umar said the gesture was part of efforts and social responsibility to cushion the plight of the less privileged in the society.

She noted that plans were in top gear to establish police children school in Onitsha for children to have access to affordable and sustainable education in accordance with core values of the country.

Responding, the manager of Tender Love Villa, Awka, Helen Eze thanked the women for their assistance in giving them hope for a better tomorrow.

Eze lamented over a lack of people’s appreciation, lack of government assistance and urged them to assist the orphanage to render love to the children.
