A non-governmental organisation, Women Advocacy for Good Governance in Nigeria (WAGGN), on Thursday commended Gov. Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State over the appointment of Alhaja Olalode Agboola as the new Head of Service (HoS ).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ajimobi on Wednesday announced the appointment of Agboola after the resignation of Mrs Hannah Ogunesan.
The group expressed happiness and gratitude over the appointment of another woman as HoS in the state.
In an interview with NAN, Mrs Alabi Folashade, General Secretary of WAGGN in Oyo State, said the appointment would encourage other women to believe in themselves .
“The outgoing HoS and the incoming are both women and this is exactly what we need to encourage the women that they can attain any height.
“The appointment has also attested to the fact that women are not inferior to their male counterparts in the civil service.
“The new HoS is well known and a dedicated woman who has acquired experiences over the years and we are sure she will put it to bear in her new role.
“She is a very upright woman and very hard working; I am sure the civil service will witness tremendous progress under her,” she said.
