THE youth ambassador has empowered no fewer than 150 unemployed graduates from Anambra State that have been trained in different skills.

Lotanna Ikebunwa, convener of the skill acquisition programme, said that the group considered it necessary to assist government in equipping the youths with skills that would help them to be self-employed.

Ikebunwa said he chose experts and resource persons in the areas of digital skill, e-commerce, web development, leadership series and entrepreneurs, best suited to impart the right knowledge to the participants.

Godson Udemezue, one of the resource persons, drew the attention of the youths to the need for them to have good mind set on what they wanted out of life and how they could achieve the objective.

He enjoined them to always maintain positive approach to skills they wish to acquire.

Udemezue told the youths that if they were focussed, they would achieve success, depending on the effort they individually put in toward achieving success.

According to Udemezue, to be self-employed mentoring, which he described as the shortest way to success would be of immense value to them.

He told them that they should endeavour to exploit opportunities offered by Information and Communication Technology, ICT, to establish and have financial freedom.

Such opportunities, he said, include blogging and other ICT-related money making ventures.

He added that they could also venture into real estate business to have visible means of livelihood.

Chigozie Okafor, one of the resource persons, harped on the role of entrepreneurship in job creation and economic empowerment.

He counselled the participants to work with passion in whichever area of business they had chosen and always set targets with application of financial prudence.

Emeifeogwu Jibunoh, another resource person, urged the youths to imbibe the spirit of self-discovery, anchored on discipline to be successful in life.

He urged them to always dress well, so as to leave good impressions on whoever that would engage their services, “because you are addressed the way you dress.’’

He told them that they should at any point in time have success at the back of their minds.
