YOUTH has been described as an indispensable and veritable tool for nurturing unity, peace and progress in any nation.

Collins Nwabunwanne, the transition committee chairman Anambra West Local Council Area said this during inauguration of a youth body known as Anambra West Indigenous Youth Association at Ajandu Hall, Umueze Anam.

Nwabunwanne emphasised that no meaningful development could take place in any society, if the youths were not united and empowered.

“Youths are the vehicle on which meaningful peace, progress and development of any nation is built upon.’’

The council boss described Anambra West youths as vibrant, intelligent and full of wisdom, which according to him makes them stand out among the best in Anambra.

He pledged to support the association financially and morally, so that their aims and objectives could be achieved.

The chairman, pledged to furnish an administrative office for the association so as to host swimming and football competitions for the youths in Anambra West.

He, then, urged other youths who have yet to identify with the body to do so, so that youths in the area would have a strong voice.

Earlier, Mmadubueze Dominic, president of the association said that the association was aimed at fostering mutual understanding, unity and peace among Ndi Anambra West.

Mmadubueze described the association as non partisan, noting that through the association, Anambra West Youths would speak with one voice for peace, progress and overall development of the area.

He enjoined young and energetic youths of the area to join the association so as to ensure peace, unity, progress and overall development of the area.

The event attracted some personalities in Anambra West including Victor Okoye, majority leader, Anambra State House of Assembly; Obinna Emeneka, Anselm Anijah, traditional rulers and other top government functionaries.
