A group, Eleniyan Professional Ambassadors, Lagos State on Friday urged Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode to seek a second term in office, in view of his performance so far.

The group made the appeal during its second get-together held in Epe.

It also applauded Mr Segun Olulade, member representing Epe Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, for his manner of representation.

The Founder and State Coordinator of the group, Mr Wale Anomo, said it was made up of some 25,000 members.

He said it was formed in 2013 to promote good governance in the state.

“These professionals come together to preach the gospel of good governance which Gov. Ambode and Honourable Segun Olulade representing Epe Constituency II  at the House stand for.

“Today, this group is endorsing Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode for second term in office. He has done so much for us in Lagos State and we think we should bring Ambode back.

“In the same vein, Honourable Segun Olulade has done well for the people and is the best to ever represent the constituency at the state Assembly.

“This group has resolved that having tested Olulade this far and having proven himself beyond all doubt, he has performed exceptional well in his legislative business.

“Olulade has also succeeded in putting smiles on faces of many people in Epe through governance. He is the glory of Epe in political space.

“We are also endorsing Olulade today to represent us at Epe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. We as a group believe the reward for good job is more job.

“We want to send Olulade higher to bring more dividends of democracy to Epe people because he is sound and selfless,” he said.

Onomo said that the group would troop out to mobilise people to get their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and support the cause in 2019.

“The only way we can tell Ambode and Olulade thank you is by re-electing them,” he said.

According to him, the group also appreciates other people who have contributed to the growth and development of Epe Federal Constituency.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the group gave award of excellence to Mr Adeniyi Onanuga and Adeniyi Saliu, the Executive Chairmen of Ikosi Ejinrin and Eredo Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Epe among others.

The event was attended by several men and women associations, traditional rulers and political leaders, including a chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Lanre Rasak. (NAN)
